The other day Ben and I were in the kitchen, probably making ourselves dinner, when all of the sudden our 56 pound German shepherd (Charley) jumped up on to the counter. We have had her for over four years now and I have never seen her even attempt this. But there she was perched up on the kitchen counter like she belonged there, as if it were all completely normal. Will was sitting on the counter across from her laughing hysterically. My first reaction was anger and to sweep her off the counter. But after seeing Will laughing I ran for my camera. After snapping the first couple of pictures, Charley actually laid down and made herself comfortable. What a weirdo dog! But, as soon as Ben left the room she got down. Ben is her most favorite human. She would follow him anywhere!
P.S. I completely wipe down all of my counter space (with Clorox or Lysol) every single time I go to cook anything! I do not trust, especially now, that at least one of my pets have not been roaming around on top of them while we are gone. Just in case you were worried about eating over here in the past or the future.
Not very hygienic but definitely funny. I’m used to having to chase cats off of the countertop but never a dog. That’s a first!
