I may never post a healthy recipe.
Cheesy Pull Apart Sourdough Bread
Ingredients:
-4 Tbsp. Butter (kept very cold, and sliced very thin)
-4 oz. cream cheese
-8 oz. of your favorite melting cheese (ex. cheddar, jack, muenster, etc…) I used: Tillamook Garlic Chili Pepper Cheddar Cheese thinly sliced.
-2 medium round loaves sourdough bread (slightly bigger in size than the bread bowl)
-sliced green onions (if desired)
Preheat your oven to 400°F. With a bread knife make crosshatch cuts in each loaf making sure to not cut all of the way through them. About 2/3s of the way is perfect.
I used butter for one loaf and cream cheese for the other (My son Sam does not like cream cheese). So you can omit one or the other (butter or cream cheese) if you want. But you will have to double the amount of the one you keep so you have enough for both loaves.
Anyway, place the thin slices of either the cream cheese or butter in between all of the cuts you made (see photo). The butter and cream cheese sort of began to get soft in this process so you can see I kind of had to press it in the caverns. Follow with the cheese. Top with the sliced green onions (if desired). Bake in hot oven uncovered for about 20 to 30 minutes (until you have a hot melty mess). Now EAT!!!
note: For normal people this should serve about 8 (as a side dish). In my house it was enough for 4:)
wow…I may not be able to browse your blog again until I’m shopping for a cheat day! uber yum!
I know and I am sorry:)
