figure competition prep. my daily journal

{maybe next year, we’ll see}

I only have three more big fat food holidays (or whatever you want to call them) to get through before the show!

Super Bowl Sunday,Valentine’s Day, and Easter.

I don’t celebrate these days (except for kids). But, there’s the food.

I build these days up in my mind.

Like on Super Bowl Sunday I should be eating crescent wrapped Little Smokies dipped in spicy brown mustard, a mountain of tortilla chips dipped in dishes of white cheddar queso and hot artichoke/spinach dip, and mini cherry cheesecakes baked in muffin tins!

On Valentines Day I should be eating rare beef Wellington, roasted asparagus smothered in Béarnaise sauce, and heart shaped dark chocolate molten lava cake!

On Easter morning I should ravage Will’s basket for the Cadbury and Reese’s eggs. Then later in the afternoon I should be eating rare crown roast of lamb, hasselback potatoes swimming in melted butter, and sticky pecan bread pudding with a cinnamon bourbon caramel sauce!

But, they’re just days. They’ll pass just like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s did.

After each of those days passed, I didn’t feel sad that I hadn’t stuffed myself sick. And I won’t feel sad after the next three gluttonous food days end either!
