How to Become Your Most Fit Self

I didn’t meet my goal.  But, I’m OK with that. It wasn’t well defined and I don’t feel like I look too bad in these photos. I’m actually really comfortable with me. Which is one of the reasons I’m having such a hard time reaching my fitness goals.

Then Ben ran a 40 mile ultra marathon on Saturday! I’m re-inspired! I don’t have a goal weight anymore. I want to become my strongest, most athletic, and healthy self.  And I’m really curious to see if I can get super toned.  I’ve never been very muscular. I’ve mostly just gone back and forth between fat and skinny.

The other day one of my students in Group Power asked me how to get rid of the fat that hangs out of the top of your tank top (by your arm pits).  I looked down at mine and laughed and said, “I don’t know!” Then I said, “Sorry, I know I’m not supposed to say that cause I’m a fitness instructor.” “And, I actually do know.”

I said, “I’m sorry to tell you this, but it’s mostly diet, and I haven’t been very strict with mine lately.” I laughed again and said, “It’s exercise too though!” It’s both!!! But, mostly diet!  summer 2015 fitness goals at Julie's Jazz1

I’m ready to go to work.  It’s so hard for me to explain how I feel about fitness without coming across shallow and full of myself.  But, I know I’m not the only one who feels this way or wants to change the way they look and feel. So I’m going to share my next eight weeks with you.  I have some ideas and goals for them and I’ll share bi-weekly as I work to follow them through.

It will keep me accountable and you in the loop (if you want to be). July is going to be all about calories since it really is mostly about what you put in your body and how much of it that you put in as well.

I’ll post updates on my body stats (height, weight, and body fat %), my calorie intake, what I eat, and my workouts.

You both look so happy! There is a sparkle to your eyes that shows it. Good luck with this next stage of the journey. And the one after that…since health and fitness doesn’t have a finish line. I am in love with your new outlook!!

    1. Thank you Michelle! You’re so right, there is no finish line! And we learn from all our food and fitness adventures!

I think you look amazing! So what if you have small imperfections, I tend to self critic too much too. Its good to have goals, and continue routine exercise and good eating habits but its important to have a good balance. I do not like my un-tone knees, hamstrings, abdomen, etc… but appreciate what you have maintained and have accomplished. Also, continue to be inspired by your husbands awesome accomplishment, but be kind to yourself as well. I thought you looked awesome and I know what hard work its taken to get there!

    1. Thank you Robyn! The #1 reason I post this stuff is for motivation. If I put it out there then I have to do it!
