Molten Lava Burgers

OMG!  I must gather my thoughts. How can I describe this beauty?  How do you describe your mouth encountering the perfect cheeseburger?
A couple of weeks ago Sam and I were watching an episode of “Food Wars”.  The topic of that particular episode was a burger called the “Jucy Lucy”.  Which consisted of a stack of cheese sandwiched between two burger patties and grilled.  That’s it.  I thought, it looks good, but what’s the big deal?  It’s cheese and hamburger.  How different can it be from a regular cheese burger with the cheese on top instead of inside?  Well, Worlds different actually!  We found this out the unbelievably tasty way!
Tucking the cheese inside the meat gives the cheese a molten and exceedingly smooth quality.  It is just gives the cheese the flawless consistency! You must try it for yourself to experience the decadence.  I myself cannot wait to try it with a various array of different cheeses!  Brie, pepper jack, provolone, mozzarella, Havarti, a monster has most definitely been created!

For these burgers I used ground chuck, Tillamook Sharp Cheddar Slices, and regular old white flour buns.  I can’t even remember the brand of the buns.  I cut the  sliced cheese in 1/4 th’s and used 6, 1/4 th slices in each stack. So 1 and 1/2 regular slices for each burger.  Each burger was ~1/3 lb. total weight for the meat.  I made two thin patties for each burger then sandwiched the cheese between the patties and pinched the sides all the way around to seal.  The burgers were then grilled to perfection by Ben.  He seared them on high for 2 minutes on each side then he turned the grill down to med. heat and grilled them for 2 minutes on each side.  Total grilling time was ~8 minutes. Using a gas grill. Next time I do this I may make it a step by step photo tutorial. Please try this at home!!!
