Noosa (A Product Review)

I thought, after I discovered FAGE Greek Yogurt, I had reached the pinnacle of all yogurts.  Now FAGE, don’t worry you’re still right there at the top.  But, you are going to have to scoot over just a little for Noosa.  And really, don’t fret because the comparison is like apples and oranges.  These yogurts are completely different yet equally as good!  Noosa is not Greek in nature.

Noosa is the most amazing non-Greek yogurt I have ever tasted!  I despise fruit on the bottom yogurt.  Noosa is fruit on the bottom yogurt and I can’t get enough! Noosa doesn’t have many different flavors but the ones they have, that I have tasted, are out of this world!

My Albertson’s grocery store carries their honey, blueberry, strawberry-rhubarb, and raspberry flavors.  I have been buying one of each every week for my after dinner dessert.  This yogurt is so good that I have been forgoing other foods I love and saving up my calories just for the Noosa.  It is a little higher in calories than Greek yogurt but it is worth every last one!  It’s embarrassing but I find myself resisting the urge to lick out the container after I have tried to scrape every last silky bit off of the sides.  If no one is around I do lick the sides and bottom.  And because Noosa uses wide shallow containers I am able to do this.  Thanks, Noosa!

The texture of this yogurt is like the texture of the most perfect crème brulee.  It is perfectly smooth, thick, and creamy.  Have you ever run out of half and half and used heavy cream in your coffee instead? You take a couple of big gulps off of your (double the calories) coffee and the cream has this wonderful mouth coating buttery quality.  This yogurt has that rich quality. It is the ultimate comfort food of yogurts. It’s like the homemade baked mac and cheese of yogurt.  The fruit element of Noosa has just the right amount of sweet and perfectly ripe fruit flavor.  The berries on the bottom taste just like you would imagine they ought to taste (sweet and tart).  Not like the crates of berries some grocery stores stock that resemble berries but when you bit into them they taste like a brown paper sack and you have to add a ¼ cup of sugar to each berry to make it taste like you believe it should.

The first time I tasted this yogurt I immediately thought of my mother and my sister-in-law.  They both share my love of creamy, custardy, melt in your mouth textures.  My mother is out of town but I took some to my sister-in-law.  She shared my sentiment.  My mother will be receiving a Noosa care package as soon as she gets home!

If you visit their website you will see that a lot of love goes into this stuff.  All natural ingredients, happy cows, fruit picked at the height of perfection, etc……

Note: This was not a paid product review. When I find a great product I want to share it with the world and celebrate the crafty people who put their heart and soul into it!
