Peanut Butter Fudge Cake

Peanut Butter Fudge Cake

I feel like it’s New Year’s Day instead of Super Bowl Sunday.  January was a blur.  For the last two and a half years I’ve been on a super odd (night and day) rotating shift schedule at work. Last Monday I began a regular day schedule with weekends off!

But, week before last, I came down with bronchitis.  So my first week back on days I wasn’t feeling well.  Today, I feel amazing!  I ran four miles and then Ben and I went swimming and I swam laps for a half hour.  Now I’m getting a blog post in so I’m having a super successful day.  So yay!

I don’t have a team in the Super Bowl.  I really don’t care who wins!  So there’s no stress there either.

Enough about me, except I guess I wanted to let you know that with all this change I think I’ll be able to get on a better blogging schedule.  During the month of February I want nail down a regular amount of time to devote to Julie’s Jazz each week.  I really enjoy cooking, working out, and taking photos. I love sharing my experiences with this these hobbies of mine and I love reading about others experiences with theirs.

Ben and I had yesterday off (from our normally super healthy eating schedule).  I made this cake for the fourth installment of me trying (without any alterations whatsoever) recipes created by other food bloggers.  I realized last year that I have over a thousand recipes saved in places like Pinterest, Foodgawker, Ziplist, and StumbleUpon that I may never try if I don’t start now.

I’ve been blogging since the summer of 2009.  One of the first food blogs I came across in those early days was Bake or Break.  I’ve pinned so many of Jennifer McHenry’s food photos.  I can’t tell you how hard it was to choose just one of her recipes!  Luckily it doesn’t have to be the last one I try!

It’s no secret that I’m a fool for the chocolate/peanut butter combination.  I absolutely had to try this: Peanut Butter Fudge Cake.  Even though last week I made a super healthy chocolate and peanut butter snack I couldn’t resist trying this cake!

I love how the peanut butter goes on straight and the chocolate frosting is like a thick layer of fudge.  It’s super rich and decadent and so worth it!  The cake is dense but not overly sweet.  It makes way for the peanut butter and frosting.  This cake is extremely impressive for the amount of work involved.  It’s a little time consuming but all the steps are pretty easy and the recipe is well written.  It’s well worth the time and effort!

Thank you so much, Jennifer McHenry at Bake or Break, for this awesome recipe!  You’re website is phenomenal I could spend an entire afternoon there, no problem!

This cake is wonderful and so is your blog! Your blog is like my favorite baking cookbook (except there is always something new when I open it up)!

I really wanted to try this recipe and in the process I had to print out 15 pages when I only needed 3 pages. I am still going to try this recipe. It really looks good.

I’m sorry! I wonder what happened? It’s frustrating printing stuff off the internet when it is not formatted for printing. Hopefully you’ll take one bite of this Peanut Butter Fudge Cake and all your frustrations will just melt away!
