If you read this blog regularly you know I try to stick to a fairly healthy, low calorie diet. You would also know, if you read this blog regularly, I like to take breaks from that diet and indulge sometimes.
Ben and I always take these breaks together and we plan them. We are super picky about where and what we eat when we indulge because we don’t do it very often and we want the experience to be worth it. I kept hearing about The Bee’s Knees from people I work with. They described it as having a fun casual atmosphere. They said the people who work there are super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They said the hours of operation were awesome (they are open on Sunday)! On top of all that they described the food as unique and amazing!
I was sold! But, I had to talk Ben into it. He gets nervous when we go to new places he knows nothing about. He gets worried they won’t be very good and we’ll have wasted our day off.
I finally got him to try it. The Bee’s Knees met and exceeded our expectations! Every single item we ordered was seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor! There are items on the menu I’d never even considered and I think I watch more Food Network than any other person on this planet! For example, The Crabby Patty (It’s a burger stuffed with crab and cheese!). Then there’s the Ahi Nachos (Fried wontons topped with seared Ahi tuna!). I pretty much wanted to order one of every item on the menu! For dessert we shared vanilla ice cream topped with fresh honey comb and this skillet chocolate and peanut butter brownie topped with EVERYTHING!!! OMG!!!
Will wanted chicken strips. They didn’t have chicken strips on the menu. But, guess what? They made Will chicken strips! He ate every last one!
We will visit The Bee’s Knees again!
Thank you for a wonderful experience!
